About MeI was born in the northern Bay Area of California where I received a BA from California State East Bay, Hayward. I was raised in Castro Valley, CA, but spent most of my summers on the ranch where my Grandfather was a working cowboy and where I gained most of my horse kmowledge. I moved to the Austin area in 2008 with my family, dog, and horse, and as you can figure, I fit right in with Texas and have been loving it ever since.
I am very excited to share my knowledge and passion for the English language arts with each and every one of my students, to not only help spark their interest in the subject, but to also improve and strengthen their literary skills; critical reading/writing which ultimately leads to confidence and success in high school and beyond. I have taught many grade levels, however, my favorite is the freshman class due to the various challenges, and being able to watch them grow academically; it never ceases to amaze me how each year I also learn from them. I consider it an honor being a part of their academic career. My hobbies and interests include: hanging out with my family and friends, church, reading, learning, singing karaoke, two-stepping, line-dancing and horseback riding. I am looking forward to meeting all my students, their families, and being a part of another successful school year for each and every one of them. Freshmen rock! |
